BBU Principle Review Workshop and Exam Preparation

This 3 hour workshop is open to BBU students/instructors only.

During this workshop you will:

  • Review the 7 BBU Movement principles
  • Match the principles with the Pilates exercises
  • Discuss the importance of the principles in each exercise
  • Recognise common faults
  • Preparation for final test out

Introductory Workshop On Becoming A Pilates Instructor

This 8 hour workshop is designed for those who are thinking of following a career in Pilates, looking to take a Pilates teacher training course or those who might just want to see what it takes to become a Pilates instructor.

During this workshop we will cover:

  • Basic anatomy
  • An introduction to teaching skills
  • Pilates principles
  • The teaching of basic exercises
  • Safety first while teaching Pilates
  • Advice on further courses and what to do next
  • What does it take to become a Pilates instructor?

Over the past 2 years Nikki Chrysostomou has been studying Shiatsu and TCM (traditional Chinese Medicine). She has compiled the following 2 workshops from her learning’s as a Shiatsu practitioner in training. Nikki has been teaching Pilates for nearly 7 years and comes from a history of movement and body background.

Listening To The Body Workshop

Have you ever come across your client when he/she is saying one thing and you’re looking at them and thinking another? Their body is crying out for something different and no one is listening to it!

  • What are your client’s bodies saying?
  • What are they asking for?

During this workshop you will learn:

  • How to look at the body differently
  • How to look, feel and listen to the underlying problem
  • Learn techniques to get a better idea of what is happening with your clients body
  • Become more comfortable with hands on and listening through touch

Combining Movement With Meridians Workshop

During the past 2 years Nikki has been experimenting with her clients on how working the meridians through movement can help her clients feel better. All instructors have clients that walk through the door over-worked, stressed, has a cold, headache, sore throat, period pains, is lethargic or over excited about some news.

How can we make our client feel better and still get a good workout?

During this workshop you will learn:

  • Where the 12 meridians are in the body
  • What relationship they have with symptoms
  • Exercises in relationship to the meridians
  • Programme design and structuring
  • A deeper understanding of how the body functions
