Lorna Malcolm – Director of Physio+ Ltd
The ethos of PHYSIO+ is ‘life long movement’; acknowledging that movement and the independence this allows, can make a massive contribution to the quality of a person’s life as they deal with injuries, illness, or the general aches and pains often experienced as we get older.
Physiotherapy plays an essential part in the process of pain relief, healing and return to function after bone, muscle, nerve, ligament or tendon and joint injuries, as well as after debilitating illness. It also has value in addressing general aches and pains and body changes that may be the result of poor posture, pregnancy, structural conditions like scoliosis or leg length discrepancy, or the stresses and strains placed on the body from occupational or leisure activities. In treating musculoskeletal conditions like neck and backache, sports and other injuries and postural issues holistically, I look at aiding the body’s natural healing mechanisms, using exercise, manual therapy, massage, electrotherapy, and postural awareness. I specialise in programmes for cancer survivors designing appropriate exercise programmes for people having treatment or post treatment.
I have over twenty years experience in teaching exercise, including Pilates. I am also trained in sports and therapeutic massage and use this to compliment my physiotherapy skills. Massage can be booked as a separate, ‘stand alone’ treatment.
I am a registered provider for Pru, Aviva, WPA, SimplyHealth and Medicals Direct. Please ask if your insurance is with another company as registration may still be possible.
