Anatomy in 3 Dimensions - There is no better way to learn anatomy! 

Anatomy in 3 Dimensions is the best way to understand the musculoskeletal system and integrate anatomical knowledge into your teaching. Learn the structure and function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons and ligaments as well as the origin, insertion and action of the major muscles of movement by building them yourself with clay on a specially designed skeleton called a Maniken.

Learn how muscles move by experiencing each muscle group in action and relating these exercises to functional movement. 

This course is designed to help anyone working with the body gain a deeper understanding of how the muscles and bones affect movement and have helped Pilates, other movement specialists, Chiropractors, Acupuncturists, Osteopaths and others gain amazing practical insight into the body. 

On this 2 day course we will cover the body from the knees through to the shoulders. You will also learn: 

  • Review principles of musculoskeletal anatomy
  • Understand he structure & function of bones, joints, muscles, tendons & ligaments
  • Identify bony landmarks
  • Understand joint structure and movements
  • Learn the origin, insertion and action of the major muscles of movement 
  • Learn basic exercises for each muscle group

Date: Sat 13th & Sun 14th July 2013 

Time: 9am-6pm 

Cost Option 1: Early bird payment £445 if paid in full before Sat  15th June

Cost Option 2: £200 deposit with the balance of £270 paid 1 week before the course starts.

Anatomy 

This 16 hour anatomy course is designed for those who are thinking of following a career in Pilates or any other movement discipline. It is also aimed at those who are interested in finding out more about the body and how it works.

If you are planning to take our Balanced Body teacher training course in Reformer or Comprehensive, a basic anatomy course is essential for you to complete your programme and become certified as a Balanced Body Pilates Instructor.

On this course you will learn:   

  • Vocabulary and planes of motion
  • Tissues of the body
  • Spine, thorax and core
  • Muscles that connect the spine, thorax to the pelvis and femurs
  • Breathing
  • Muscles of the pelvic floor
  • The hip and lower leg
  • The torso, shoulder and upper limb
  • Abdominals

This 16 hour course runs over 4 days and costs £334. This is inclusive of VAT and a certificate of completion. You will need to purchase: The Trail Guide to The Body 4th Edition by Andrew Biel.
